The roller is powered by the latest US EPA Tier 4f/EU Stage 4 engine from Deutz with EGR, DOC and SCR technology; while in less regulated countries, it features a US EPA Tier 3/EU Stage 3A Deutz engine with EGR and muffler.

\r\n

Ammann’s modular, easy-load ballasting system enables the machine weight to be adjusted from 9 t to 28 t in a single hour with the help of only a forklift. This translates into a load-per-tyre adjustment from 1.125 kg to 3.500 kg.

\r\n

The ease and weight of the ballast adjustment are unique to the market, said Ammann. The system enables use of varied ballasting materials including water, steel, concrete and sand. The air-on-the-run system allows easy control of tyre pressure from the cab. The ballast adjustment and air-on-the-run system make it easy for the operator to control machine weight and tyre pressure, the two main tyred roller compaction factors.

\r\n

Front isostatic axles with oscillation deliver higher stability and increased surface coverage and quality. Front tyres are connected with an isostatic system that enables movement of +/- 50 mm. The front-axle configuration combines with +/- 3° oscillation for optimal tyre contact in difficult terrain.

\r\n

The new cabin is spacious with low sound levels and a 170˚ rotating seat for all-day operator comfort. A multifunctional display provides intuitive control, ensuring even less experienced operators are successful. The cab offers optimal sight lines and visibility.

\r\n

Moreover, the Ammann ART 280 provides simple access during maintenance and service of components. Access is gained from the ground, making maintenance fast and easy and thus reducing downtime. A variety of options also help the machine closely match the needs of individual contractors.

Japanese manufacturer Yanmar has completed its acquisition of Terex Compact Germany GmbH from Terex Corporation, at a cost of US$60 million. Both companies expect to significantly expand their sales and service networks in major overseas markets within Europe and North America.

Japanese manufacturer Yanmar has completed its acquisition of Terex Compact Germany GmbH from Terex Corporation, at a cost of US$60 million.

\r\n

The purchase includes the Terex Corporation businesses carrying out the production and sale of wheel loaders, excavators, wheel excavators, and other products in Europe, as well as the production, sales and development facilities in Crailsheim, Germany and parts distribution centre in Rothenburg, Germany.

\r\n

With the acquisition, both companies expect to significantly expand their sales and service networks in major overseas markets within Europe and North America. The acquisition will also allow Yanmar to increase its overseas construction business sales from around 30 billion yen at present to approximately 80 billion yen in 2020.

\r\n

“We also plan to expand our business to approximately 130 billion yen in the mid-term for the construction business of the entire Yanmar Group, and to continue to actively develop business in the small and medium sized construction machinery market place, “said Takehito Yamaoka, president of Yanmar Holdings Co Ltd.

\r\n

“We have concluded an agreement for the acquisition of Terex Compact Germany, which possesses a strong Europe-based sales network and an excellent quality family of products, including the distinguished German Schaeff series, in a move aimed at expanding the Yanmar Group’s small to medium sized construction machinery business. This will significantly expand the Yanmar Group’s small and medium sized construction machinery portfolio. I am certain that the conclusion of this agreement will lead to significant growth for the Yanmar Group’s construction machinery business,” added Mr Yamaoka.

Peter Hirschel, general manager of Terex Compact Germany GmbH, commented, “It is a great honour to be the most recent member of the Yanmar family. To have a strong parent company with Yanmar with long-term growth expectations is an outstanding situation for the Compact Germany business in our competitive market.
