Detection Technology, a global provider of X-ray detector solutions, has launched AVA Zero, a new dual-energy line detector designed for entry-level urban security screening systems. The detector aims to help security scanner manufacturers reduce system costs while maintaining the image quality required for effective security screening.
Designed for transmissive X-ray security scanners used in metros, train stations and critical infrastructure facilities, AVA Zero combines a simplified material and assembly design with competitive pricing. It targets the high-volume urban security market, where cost efficiency, reliable imaging performance and ease of integration are key requirements.
AVA Zero features a compact dual-energy architecture that integrates low- and high-energy detection on a single printed circuit board (PCB). Its sandwich design improves registration accuracy between low- and high-energy signals, reduces installation space requirements and cuts material usage by 20%. The streamlined construction is intended to lower manufacturing costs and reduce material consumption without compromising image quality.
Built on Detection Technology’s modular platform, AVA Zero uses the same readout and a single DT software development kit (SDK). This approach simplifies integration across different system configurations, enabling manufacturers to develop cost-efficient security scanners while benefiting from a reliable detector platform and the company’s global service network.
