Security Essen sets the course for the security industry with a high-calibre supporting programme

Security Essen is again providing strong momentum for the security industry, not only through innovative products and technologies, but also with a high-calibre supporting programme. From 22 to 25 September, the leading trade fair for civil security will spotlight today’s key challenges and the industry’s future through a comprehensive programme of conferences, expert forums and themed days.

Covering topics such as talent development, cybersecurity, drone technology and the protection of critical infrastructure, the programme at Messe Essen combines knowledge sharing, networking and practical insights at the highest level. Most importantly, most events are freely accessible and included in the trade fair ticket.

A key focus is on attracting the next generation of security professionals. On 22 September, the Training and Further Education Day will bring together companies, educational institutions and industry associations to showcase career pathways, training opportunities and long-term prospects within the security sector. Young people will gain practical insights into a wide range of professions while speaking directly with potential employers.

Also taking place on 22 September, the Emergency Services Day is aimed at representatives from the police, fire and ambulance services, as well as other emergency response organisations. The programme will explore current operational scenarios, emerging technologies and best practices in cross-organisational cooperation.

Cybersecurity and knowledge transfer at the highest level

Running in parallel, the DNS Digital Networking Security Conference will take place from 22 to 23 September, focusing on the latest developments in digital security. Experts from industry, academia and public authorities will discuss current threat scenarios and strategies for building a more secure digital future. Key topics include cyber defence, network security, artificial intelligence, as well as insights into the dark web and emerging threats such as doxing.

Continuous knowledge sharing will also be a hallmark of the four-day event through the Security Experts Forum. Featuring practice-oriented presentations, industry specialists will highlight the latest trends, innovative solutions and best practices across the full spectrum of the security sector.

Future technologies and the protection of critical infrastructure

Another highlight is the European Drone Conference, taking place on 23 and 24 September. The conference will explore the opportunities and challenges of unmanned systems in the security sector. International experts will provide insights into current applications, emerging technologies and future developments in a field that is playing an increasingly important role in security operations.

The Banks and Savings Banks Day on 24 September is tailored specifically to security professionals in the financial sector. Discussions will focus on current requirements for protecting bank branches, ATMs and safe-deposit facilities. Against a backdrop of evolving threats and rising security demands, the event offers valuable insights and practical solutions for banks, savings banks and other financial service providers.
