Due to the government’s current Covid-19 policy and Messe Muenchen’s concern for the health and safety of the exhibitors and visitors, this year’s bauma China is cancelled, the organiser just announced.

\n\n

The show was scheduled to be held in November 2022 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre (SNIEC). The organiser has earlier announced that despite the challenging circumstances, bauma China would go ahead, expecting about 3,000 exhibitors on the entire exhibition space of 300,000 sq m, including several international pavilions.

\n\n

“A successful bauma China with certainty for planning is our primary concern. Due to the still unforeseeable circumstances, this objective is unfortunately no longer feasible,” said Xu Jia, CEO of Messe Muenchen Shanghai Co Ltd.

\n\n

“To avoid last minute decision which may bring financial loss to the customers, we therefore cancel the show for 2022 with a heavy heart at this stage and hope that all exhibitors can now start their preparation and planning for a successful bauma China in 2024.”

\n\n

The next bauma China is planned to take place from 26 to 29 November 2024, at the SNIEC.

Preparations for bauma China 2022 are currently underway. The event will go ahead as planned, taking place from 22 to 25 November at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC), announced the organiser Messe München.

\n\n

Despite the challenging circumstances, about 3,000 exhibitors are expected to occupy the entire exhibition space of 300,000 sq m, according to Messe München. Exhibitor registration is still in progress while visitor pre-registration is now open.

\n\n

“As bauma China celebrates its 20th anniversary in China, the event will continue to provide the key platform for Chinese construction machinery companies to showcase its capability to the world, and the ‘gateway’ for international companies to enter the Chinese market,” said the organiser.

\n\n

Messe München highlighted that, as of 28 June 2022, the quarantine measures for inbound travellers to mainland China have been reduced to seven days of centralised quarantine, followed by three days of home monitoring for most cities. The embassy of China in France, Australia, Indonesia, Norway, Spain and the US have also relaxed the Chinese visa application requirements since 20 June 2022.

\n\n

To date, international pavilions from Germany, Italy, Spain and South Korea have confirmed their participation in bauma China, shared Messe München. In addition, major international players like Caterpillar, Komatsu, Isuzu, Bonfiglioli, Bosch Rexroth, Danfoss and Parker have applied to take part in the event.

\n\n

“As Asia’s leading trade fair for the construction and mining machinery industry, bauma China provides the best platform for industry players to meet again in person, to exchange information, and to network,” said Messe München.

\n\n

The organiser further pointed out that, to achieve the country’s dual carbon goals of getting CO2 emissions peak by 2030, reducing them progressively and finally arriving at carbon neutrality by 2060 through planting trees, saving energy and reducing fossil fuel output to offset carbon emissions, automation, digitalisation, artificial intelligence, energy conservation and emission reduction have become the main drivers for industrial transformation and upgrading.

\n\n

Key construction machinery manufacturers have since introduced new products to meet the China IV emission standards for non-road machinery – a series of standards that aim to transit all heavy-duty vehicles to soot-free emission levels.

\n\n

At the same time, China’s focus on strengthening and modernising its infrastructure system will boost domestic demand for construction machinery and create new opportunities for construction machinery manufacturers, added Messe München.
