Indeco, a leading Italian company in the global design and manufacture of hydraulic equipment, has signed a definitive agreement for the acquisition by Wipro Hydraulics, one of the world’s largest independent manufacturers of hydraulic cylinders and a company within the Wipro Infrastructure Engineering group.

\n\n

“Together, we are ready to conquer new territories, ensuring a more widespread market presence and unrivalled technological capability,” said Indeco. Becoming part of the Wipro Group will enable Indeco to accelerate product development, strengthen its industrial and commercial structure, and optimise production processes, while retaining the brand’s quality and distinctive identity.

\n\n

“Despite our global outlook, our roots remain firmly planted,” affirmed Indeco, confirming that production will stay local and that the Vitulano family will continue to be fully involved in leading the company, alongside the management of its international branches, to ensure both operational and strategic continuity.

\n\n

Indeco further highlighted that the partnership is not just a commercial deal but the meeting of two long-established industry leaders celebrating 50 years of engineering excellence. It brings together Indeco’s manufacturing strength and Wipro’s global scale to create powerful synergies.

Ideal for primary demolition work on reinforced concrete structures, Indeco’s new IDC jaw has been designed in such a way that optimises the weight (7,200 kg) to power ratio for precise and efficient operation under all conditions and even at great heights.

\n\n

The 3,350-mm-long, 610-mm-wide attachment has a maximum jaw opening of 1,800 mm, which is larger than that of similar products of the same class, said Indeco. The jaw depth is 1,300 mm.

\n\n

The two large cylinders deliver the necessary force (350 bar) in every jobsite condition, fitted with highly durable seals that can withstand up to 700 bar. The cutter blade length is 200 mm, and the maximum cutting diameter is 70 mm.

\n\n

The IDC jaw features full 360° hydraulic rotation, with a dual motor and protection valve. It is also equipped with a regeneration valve, which makes the jaw open faster (3-4 secs) and close faster (5-7 secs) under no-load conditions, shortening work cycles and increasing productivity.

\n\n

What’s more, the IDC jaw’s innovative interchangeable teeth system, called ‘Indecobite’ (patent pending), speeds up maintenance operations and reduces machine downtime.

\n\n

The first of a new family in the Indeco product range, the IDC primary demolition jaw will soon be working on a major job demolishing large structures in Australia for the City Circle Group, according to Indeco.

The HP Fuel Saving hydraulic hammers from Indeco combine maximum productivity with energy savings. They consume up to 20% less fuel compared to models from other manufacturers, with weight and performance being equal, said Indeco. This benefit can be achieved thanks to the upgraded hydraulic system, which allows the hydraulic power to be optimised and the engine speed of the operating machine to be reduced.

\n\n

Such feature is even more clear-cut when comparing the Indeco hammer with gas or gas-oil powered hammers. The HP series has a single moving part, the distributor, in line with the piston. The internal oil distribution system has no grooves, no direction changes, no diameter reduction and an almost total absence of seals. All this means an extremely efficient hydraulic action with low friction.

\n\n

The exact opposite occurs in gas-powered hammers, which have a distributor located away from the piston, divided into two or more parts, a complex hydraulic distribution arrangement and a large number of seals. These are the characteristics that cause an inevitable loss of energy and which, consequently, require working at high pressure and consuming more fuel.

\n\n

The automatic speed-energy impact variation system is another highlight of Indeco hydraulic hammers, which are capable of adapting to the hardness of the rock, thereby making the best use of the impact energy to the advantage of productivity.

\n\n

In a recent comparison of real data on the running costs of Indeco’s largest demolition hammer, the HP 18000 Fuel Saving, and of its gas-powered counterpart, the company notes that the HP 18000 Fuel Saving hammer requires 18.3% less energy to achieve the same results. This translates into a saving of 22,200 l of fuel per year. So, if the combustion of just one litre of diesel produces approximately 2.3 kg of CO2, in this specific case, the Fuel Saving technology delivers a reduction in emissions equal to 50,600 kg of CO2 per year.

Two lightweights in the Indeco small hammer range - the HP 400 FS and HP 550 FS - have been upgraded with more powerful features. Starting with energy class, it rises to 550 joule for the HP 400 FS and 750 joule for the HP 550 FS. The hammers’ blows per minute also increase to 540 -1,670 and 780-1,720 respectively, as well as their tool diameter (65 mm and 75 mm respectively) - which is an increase of approximately 10 mm for both.

\n\n

This improvement has not changed the hammer size and design in either model, said Indeco. The units are ideal for use with excavators between 2.5 and 5 t for the HP 400 FS, and 3.5 - 6.5 t for the HP 550 FS.

\n\n

In addition, the larger Indeco HP 6000 FS hammer takes up a position midway between the HP 5000 and HP 7000. With a working weight of 3,600 kg, energy class of 9,000 joule, and a steel diameter of 170 mm, this model is an ideal fit for excavators in the 35 - 45 t range, especially given its excellent power-to-weight ratio. According to Indeco, the HP 6000 FS also features Hardox inserts in the lower part of the casing, which enable it to withstand even the toughest jobs.
