The next International Built Environment Week (IBEW) will return as an in-person event from 5 to 9 September 2022, to be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore. It will feature the IBEW Conference and its trade exhibition BEX Asia.

\n\n

“The built environment sector is changing the way it designs, builds and operates to sustain competitiveness while addressing challenges such as climate change and manpower scarcity and keeping in step with the Singapore Green Plan 2030,” explained RX Singapore, the organiser of BEX Asia. “Cutting-edge technologies like 3D scanning, IoT powered energy and facilities solutions, integrated digital delivery (IDD) for projects along with insights and thought leadership are what attendees can expect at both the IBEW Conference and BEX Asia.”

Yip Je Choong, managing director of RX Singapore, added, “The pandemic has accentuated the need for the built environment industry to accelerate digital transformation. As the region’s premier market intelligence platform for the sector, it is imperative that we serve as an accelerator for the industry to move towards smarter and more sustainable future. With the built environment industry entering the upward cycle, we hope BEX Asia 2022 will help unearth new opportunities and drive profitable business relations.”

BEX Asia, which is running from 6 to 8 September, is expected to showcase some 200 brands and solutions from over 20 countries, and to host more than 10,000 professionals and decision makers from Singapore, the region and beyond. Among the solutions will include HVAC, robotics systems, building materials, energy management, IoT sensors and digitalisation.

BEX Asia

\n\n

The organiser pointed out that digitalisation solutions will be a strong focus at BEX Asia 2022, in line with the evolving demands from the built environment industry.

\n\n

“BEX Asia 2022 is held just when the built environment industry is rapidly adopting new digital technologies, which have proven their worth during the last two years, to enhance business resilience and as part of Singapore’s industry transformation roadmap for the sector,” highlighted RX Singapore.

\n\n

A strong array of tech and digital companies like Autodesk, Cupix and Hitachi Asia will be featuring their latest technologies and solutions that will revolutionise the industry.

\n\n

Other players joining BEX Asia include Procore Technologies, Camfil Singapore, Daikin Airconditioning Singapore, Nippon Paint, Singapore Polytechnic, Wavin Singapore, Ministry of Clean and Schindler Lifts (Singapore).

IBEW Conference

\n\n

IBEW Conference 2022 will host over 65 industry leaders and domain experts, covering the latest technologies and trends that focus on three core pillars: Sustainability & Green Economy, Technology & Innovation and Leadership & Future Growth. Click here for more information on the programme.

Speakers at the conference will include: Moshe Safdie, founder of Safdie Architects; Prof. Jason Pomeroy, founding principal of Pomeroy Studio & Pomeroy Academy; Ar. Tang Kok Thye, president of Singapore Green Building Council; Pierre-Eric Saint-Andre, chairman and CEO of Bouygues Bâtiment International; and Er. Dr. Johnny Wong, deputy CEO (building) at Housing Development Board (HDB).

IBEW Conference will also bring together some 400 CEOs and senior management of major developers, builders, specialist suppliers, consultants, solution and service providers, and financiers in an exclusive, by invite-only ‘CEOs in Conversation’ on 8 September.

\n\n

Themed ‘Leading Together, Co-creating Success’, the CEOs in Conversation session will see leaders from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), Ong&Ong, Keppel Land, Obayashi Singapore and McKinsey & Company discussing and sharing what the built environment firms can do collectively to accelerate growth.

\n\n

Another highlight at IBEW 2022 is the site visits to exemplary projects in Singapore, which include Avenue South Residence, the world’s tallest PPVC project and BCAA, a development that exemplifies productivity improvement and adoption of multi DfMA technologies, just to name a few. The site visits will be held a day before the conference (on 5 September).
