Singapore’s Peck Tiong Choon invests in new Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1 crane for demanding projects

Peck Tiong Choon, a Singapore-based provider of lifting, transport and logistics solutions, has expanded its crane fleet with the addition of a Liebherr LTM 1120-4.1. This new mobile crane, with a lifting capacity of 120 t and a 66-m telescopic boom, is now the most powerful four-axle model in the company’s fleet.

“As part of our involvement in major projects like airport expansion, mass rapid transit (MRT) and other infrastructure developments, we decided to invest in the new LTM 1120-4.1. As the most powerful four-axle crane on the market, it offers the capacity we need,” said Teow Seng Pay, managing director at Peck Tiong Choon Transport Pte Ltd and Peck Tiong Choon Logistics Pte Ltd, adding that “at the same time, it was the right moment to modernise our 100-t class.”

With the LTM 1120-4.1, Peck Tiong Choon continues to develop its fleet in a targeted way. In addition to 12 mobile cranes ranging from the LTM 1070-4.2 to the LTM 1750-9.1, the company also operates four crawler cranes of the LTR 1100 type. The new addition features a compact design, VarioBase technology for flexible outrigger positioning, and proven reliability in daily operations – particularly when frequently moving between jobsites.” Mr Pay said, “The new crane will be used for short-term construction projects as well as daily crane rental operations.”

Apart from quality and technology, the high resale value of Liebherr cranes was a key factor in the investment – as was the reliable service support provided by the Liebherr team. Peck Tiong Choon purchased its first Liebherr crane, an LTM 1200/1, in 2003. Founded in 1955, the company offers comprehensive services in lifting, transport, equipment rental, integrated logistics, warehousing and machinery moving.

Peck Tiong Choon also places a strong emphasis on workplace safety – a commitment underscored by its bizSafe Star certification, the highest accreditation level within Singapore’s bizSafe programme. This nationally recognised initiative supports companies in systematically enhancing their workplace safety and health (WSH) standards. The certification confirms that safety is deeply embedded in the company’s operations and remains a top priority.
