Sennebogen has unveiled its first battery-powered telescopic crawler crane – the 653 E Electro Battery. This 50-t machine was developed in collaboration with Dutch dealer Van den Heuvel.
Thanks to the dual power management system, the 653 Electro Battery allows users to work fully electrically on any type of construction site and for an unlimited period of time. This is because the crane is equipped with a 210 kWh battery pack that can be operated both in battery-only mode and while charging from the mains, said Sennebogen.
“As soon as the machine is connected to the mains, the mains power is used for lifting activities, excess power fed into the system simultaneously recharges the batteries,” explained the manufacturer.
With the 653 Electro Battery, users can combine the benefit of a telescopic crawler crane – which offers excellent off-road mobility and manoeuvrability (even with a load on the hook) – with the advantages of Sennebogen battery technology.
The battery-powered crane is also fossil-fuel free, operates with less vibration and is quieter than its diesel-powered counterparts, added Sennebogen.
Another highlight is reduced service requirements, as maintenance procedures such as engine oil changes are completely eliminated.
The new Sennebogen 653 Electro Battery will be officially launched at bauma.
