For the second time, Axor, the designer brand of the mixer and shower manufacturer Hansgrohe SE, has succeeded in winning one of the furniture and interior design industry’s most coveted awards, the Interior Innovation Award “Best of Best” 2014. At the imm cologne’s official opening ceremony, Philippe Grohe, Head of the Axor brand, and Anna Lindgren, from Front Design, accepted the much sought-after prize.
“The Interior Innovation Award, ‘Best of Best’, is a confirmation of Axor’s innovative powers and the brand’s reputation for strong customer benefits. Receiving this award is a wonderful reward for three years of intensive collaboration with the Swedish design trio Front and the Japanese design studio Nendo,” a delighted Philippe Grohe comments on the award.
The Axor LampShower designed by Nendo was able to convince the judging panel thanks to its seemingly weightless design and the combination of light and water, which give the shower a sensual dimension. The Axor Showerpipe designed by Front is characterized by the inherent aesthetics of technology: pipes, valves and funnels, originally purely functional components, were turned into attractive design objects.
The Interior Innovation Award was created in 2002 by the imm cologne and the German Design Council. It remains one of the most important design awards in the furniture and interior design industry, and it is given in recognition of the most innovative designs in various product categories. The imm cologne sponsors the competition, which is organized by the German Design Council.
